Locally produced steam energy

Processing soybeans is energy-intensive, and Denofa uses approximately 100 GWh of steam annually at its facility.

Own boiler house

Most of the steam comes from the neighboring waste incineration plants Frevar and Kvitebjørn Bio-El, while the rest is produced in Denofa’s own boiler house. In addition to producing steam for its own use, Denofa supplies steam to several neighboring companies.

The steam is primarily produced on an electrode boiler, which can supply both Denofa and neighboring companies with steam. The boiler house also has a gas boiler that serves as a backup for the electrode boiler. The gas boiler operates on liquefied natural gas (LNG).
