Strict requirements

Responsible sourcing of sustainable soy

The Nordic market is a major purchaser of sustainable and deforestation-free soy. Our strict requirements for traceability originally stem from the prohibition of non-genetically modified raw materials, but since then, it has been possible to add new requirements for sustainability, social conditions, ethics, and the environment.

Preventive measures

For many years, the risk of salmonella in feed and food in the Nordic countries has been exceptionally low compared to other European countries.

The extensive salmonella control conducted in Norway means that feed products and food produced in the country are essentially free from salmonella.

Protein ingredients for feed, including soy meal, have a potentially high risk of salmonella contamination. To reduce the risk to an absolute minimum, Denofa has implemented a range of preventive measures. Our production facility is strictly divided into clean and unclean zones, and there are stringent requirements for inspections and cleaning.

Up to 4,000 salmonella analyses per year

Denofa also has an extensive monitoring and control program, where we conduct up to 4,000 salmonella analyses per year. After production, the soy meal is placed in quarantine storage. It cannot be delivered to customers until new analyses confirm that the meal is free from salmonella.
